I found the following at Big!Lots for $3 or less. I was surprised at the quality which included many Oscar winners and genuine classics. Of course they also had stuff like Hudson Hawk and Gigli.
King Kong (1933)
Golddiggers of 1933
Mighty Joe Young
The Band Wagon
Pride of the Yankees
The Petrified Forest
Bowling For Colombine
Alexander (director's cut)

These are all legit Hollywood releases. In many cases they're simply the old single-disc, bare bones version of a movie that's since gotten the deluxe treatment. I also saw some of the old Warner "snapper cases".
Besides those titles they also had some TV stuff including Married With Children: Most Outrageous Episodes, The Best of the Chris Rock Show and Def Comedy Jam.
It's probably the single-disc version of King Kong, correct? I got that and paid $7 for it a while back. Kind of a shame to see it for $3 somewhere. D:

re: Big Lots DVD sale.
Yes, they are all legit releases. Yes, many are older, meaning they're remaindered titles, overstocks, or movies no one wanted. (A certain movie with Paris Hilton in it keeps popping up in large numbers.) For those interested I've started a checklist for titles I've spotted at my forum: http://cryptspace.yuku.com/topic/448/t/Big-Lots-has-3-DVDs-Checklist.html.
