New Double D Distribution Dollar DVDs(heh) at Walgreens.

Walgreens just got in a selection of dollar DVDs by Double D Distribution. I didn't see all of the titles below at the 4 locations I went to, they all had the same selections except one had the spanish titles. Double D must have something to do with Front Row because Front Row's logo is at the beginning of some of the discs, Front Row is printed on the spanish discs, and they all rang up as "F/ROW DVD" on the receipt. The cases are almost exactly like Treasure Box's thin cardboard output. The edges of the cases are numbered, but are alphabetized in two different lists inside the covers, where I got these titles.
Angel and the Badman (1947)
A Walk in the Sun (1945)
The Blind Fists Of Bruce Lee (1981)
Bloodfight (1989)
Chino (1973)
Desperate for Love (1989)

Furia al Amanecer (Rage at Dawn (1955))
El Inspector General (duh
)

There were a a few discs of cartoons in spanish also, but nothing new to dollar DVD land. The neatest part is that I picked up the two Bruce Lee films(I don't speak much spanish, I'm just a packrat) and they had both english and spanish audio tracks! Unfortunately El Cid was spanish only, but it's understandable, since the thing is already 3 hours long and looks horribly pixelated(like a really bad VCD) already. Obviously there would be no room for another language track.

Beside the 3 Spanish titles, I picked up vol. 1 of the bloopers(they didn't have vol. 2), Love is Forever(my MMM copy pauses every two seconds), The James Dean story(yet another crappy EP VHS tape i can get rid of!), and the Pearl Harbor disc. I didn't see any of the Kung Fu discs or Desperate for Love, which I already have from MMM.

Double D Distribution

Wow, thanks for being a guinea pig and buying some of the Spanish titles. I was thinking some of them might have English tracks also, but didn't want to take the risk. Have to go pick those up now. I noticed that El Cid is NOT available on DVD in the USA, so unless you grab an import, this would be the only way to see it on DVD (as lousy as the transfer is, and it's in Spanish).
I picked up some titles not on your lists: THE TATTOO CONNECTION, GOODBYE BRUCE LEE, and FINAL CUT (1993), aka DISMEMBERED HIGHWAY (no plot outline or comments on IMDB, and written and directed by Chris Lechler, and starring nobody I've ever heard of. (New to Dollar DVD methinks.)
These also have different title lists inside the packaging. Ready? BATTLE OF BLOOD ISLAND (recommended), BEYOND OBSESSION, THE BLACK 6, BREATHING FIRE, CASABLANCA EXPRESS, ROCKY JONES, SPACE RANGER: CRASH OF MOONS, DR. JECKYLL AND MR. HYDE (silent), FISTS OF BRUCE LEE, HONOR THY FATHER, THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM, MANIAC (highly recommended!), RETURN OF THE STREET FIGHTER, SKI TROOP ATTACK (fun Roger Corman flick), THE SWAP, and THEY CALL ME TRINITY. From another case: AFRICA SCREAMS, INSPECTOR GENERAL, SHIRLEY TEMPLE CLASSICS, PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN, CAPTAIN KIDD, ZORRO, MR. MOTO'S LAST WARNING, SOUTH BRONX HEROES (stinks!), SPIRITUAL KUNG FU, WHO SHOT PAT, HORROR EXPRESS (another good one), SHERLOCK HOLMES: TERROR BY NIGHT, and three classical music for young kids type discs. Hard to keep up with all this stuff...but that's what makes it fun.
